The aloe vera juice supposedly makes the pH(potential hydrogen) acidic (pH 5 or 6) when mixed with a conditioner and two oils (castor and jojoba). The acidic pH levels should help close the cuticles of the hair follicle, and keep moisture in your hair.I made the mistake of buying the gallon sized jar. This is not always an advantage, if you have little space in your refrigerator. (The juice must go into a refrigerator after opening). The smaller sized bottle may be the appropriate size if space is an issue. I tried drinking about 2-3 ounces a day, and on the first day realized I couldn't drink it alone. Aloe juice has a very distinct taste and after gagging a few times I bought some other juice to mix it with. It isn't too bad mixed with orange juice, or apple juice.
